Diya Aur Baati Hum 28th October 2011 Written Episode

Episode continues from yesterday's scene. Meena continues with her acting. She tells Sandhya that her husband does not support her, he beat her so much so that Meena herself has robbed the house and he is even ready to leave her; the bahus are like furnitures in this house and some day when Bhabho feels like she may even kill her.

The next day, Sandhya is dressing herself in front of the mirror. She wears her necklace and it gets stuck in the wet hair in the back. Suraj comes there. Sandhya sees him in the mirror and remembers Meena's words. She is upset. Suraj remembers the first time he had helped Sandhya wearing the necklace and thinks of helping her again. An upset Sandhya puts her pallu over her head and leaves from there. Suraj is confused.

Bhabho is drying clothes upstairs. Suraj is telling her he had reported the theft to the police. They will surely take action. He will again go to the police station and ask them to take speedy action. Mohit comes there, he tells a relative of his friend is in the police department and he has asked them to find out the robber soon. Bhabho wants to know whether they will get back their bahu's jewels. Mohit tells they will get everything back. He again asks Bhabho to forgive him. Bhabho is angry. Suraj supports Mohit and asks Bhabho to forgive him. Bhabho just tells okay and goes downstairs to the hall.

Then, Mohit tells Bhabho about a computer center and that if he does a course over there, he will start earning 20-25 K. Bhabho is surprised to hear this but then she keeps quiet. Ishan says to suhana tht they wl go to Delhi, to their family, and says tht he too is missing them and will call them..they all speak through speaker fone, excitedly and Suhana says to them tht they are coming there tomorrow, All are shocked to hear this, Inder says tht this wl be a problem if they come here, both of them excitedly tell them tht they r indeed coming, everyone tries to stop them frm coming, by giving some or the other reasons, Ishan tries to get some hint and asks if they r angry with him, is there something wrong, BM says tht nothing has happened, and they shd light their own home there, their new home at Mbai, since its Diwali and one shd nt darken its own home. Sushan agree.

Suhana/Ishaan are sad and Ishaan is still thinking why they r not called at their own home and says tht there is something surely wrong , Suhana tries to comfort him saying tht BM is right, one shd nt leave their homes in dark in this festival, and there is an importance too of Laxmipujan, Ishaan agrees, and promises her tht there wont be any further Diwali without their family.

All are sad in K house and feeling bad tht they had to deny Sushan coming to Delhi just because of one man, Inder says tht this is the first time tht Ishan would nt be there with us during Diwali. Person-based praise and process-based praise — are you praising your kids the best way?

"The parents who gave more process-praise had children who believe their intelligence and social qualities could be developed and they were more eager for challenges" — according to Stanford researcher Carol Dweck, quoted in this essay by Jenny Anderson.

I haven't delved through Dweck's study, but I wonder whether correlation is causation here. Maybe less intelligent parents are the ones who make "person-based" comments like "You're so smart!" and more intelligent parents figure out that it is better not to tell the child what he is but to talk about the specifics of the thing that he is attempting to do. If so, the difference in intelligence may be simply inborn.
