Germany coach Joachim Low has released Mario Gotze from his squad for Tuesday's final European Championship qualifier against Belgium.
The 19-year-old returned to his club Borussia Dortmund with Low informing his club coach Jurgen Klopp that he felt the player needed a break in view of his upcoming duties in the Bundesliga and Champions League.
His place in the squad will be taken by his Dortmund team mate Ilkay Gundogan.
He has been promoted from the under-21 squad while Toni Kroos was also back in training after missing the trip Friday's 3-1 win over Turkey due to injury.
However, it is likely to be Mesut Ozil who will take Gotze's place in the starting X [...]
